  Upcoming Dates Spring Break Next Week April 6 - first day back Ecosystem Project We finished building our ecosystems and solutions to the problem that is causing the animal to be endangered or vulnerable. Students made plans as large groups and then broke into two smaller groups to make the two related structures. Newscasts This week we filmed and edited our Newscasts for our community projects. Students used their research to help create their scripts. Our next step will be to upload or videos to the websites. Genius Hour We got a good start on building and making our final projects for Genius Hour. Students are creating posters, slide shows, maps, life cycles, making objects to represent their understandings. Math In math this week, all students work on developing an understanding of remainders in division. We worked through some discussions and comparisons. Students worked in groups to solve some division problems with remainders, using blocks.  Grade 4s wrapped up their work with

  Upcoming Events March 22 - Unique Sock Day in connection with World Down Syndrome Day March 26 - Last day of school before Spring Break Newscast  "We watched a newscast and then we had to write our own script and then we're going to make it into our own newscast" Rebecca "We have our partners with different cities or countries to help make our own newscast. We're gong to take a video of each other and trying to make it relate to an actual newscast." Mila Tuscany Together "We made a routine for dance or fitness and then we did a vote on who's we thought we should show to the school." Jake "We presented to the school on Google Meet. There were also other classes that presented." Jumana STOMP work "We created groups and made a routine" Mason "We did this outside and got other groups to come and share their routines and we would stand up and show it to the other groups so they can remember it." Upcoming Events March 11-12 - Parent Teacher Conferences (Early Dismissal Thursday, no school Friday) March 15 - Crazy Hair Day March 15 - Zoo Virtual Trip #1 March 17 - Zoo Virtual Trip #2  Endangered Animal Research "We researched about an endangered animal. We had to brainstorm questions for that endangered animal." Scott "For our endangered animals, everyone is in groups and have an animal, and there's a grade four and three. One person or two people will have tech and you have to research your endangered animal and put new questions you have on cards to get the answers. Evelyn Community Current Event Research "We are doing research on our country or cities main problem and we are going to make a newscast about it." Charlie Building Centres "We had a group and we each got a centre to work on with our group. In some of the centres we have to learn how to build things like a building to see is it strongest, can it stand up to natural disasters."

  Upcoming Events March 8 - virtual visit from Elder Saa'kokoto March 11 - Early Dismissal day for parent teacher interviews March 15 - Crazy Hair Day STOMP Into March "Mrs. Gainor took 9 kids from our class and we had these cards that you would follow and there was a drum, there was a in and out beat, and ski feet, and gorilla, and snap, and hand slide and crocodile." Evelyn "Ms. Glowacki said to the whole school we ned to make a STOMP routine." Jake Endangered Animals "We each got a group and we each got an endangered animal. We had to write down as many questions as we could. We picked our top 3 questions and write them on a paper and try to answer them." Makena "We did a Frayer model and Ms. Cropper had to put every example with a star beside it on the Frayer model and we had to pick the top five animals" Sam Multiplication "Grade 4s did the pyramids for multiplication. We did it up to the 6 times table this week." Scott "G
