  Coulee Trip and Soccer We started this week off with a trip to the coulee and a visit with Elder Saa'kooto. We talked about mindfulness, being present and connections to Na'a. Students worked on nature inspired Zen Tangles and 5 Senses Journalling to focus in on what's around us when we are still For gym, we are still making use of the outdoor spaces and have begun working on soccer skills. This week we've been playing small games focusing on control and safety.

  Upcoming Events March 1 STOMP into March begins March 1 Read-a-thon begins Pink Shirt Day "Pink Shirt  is where we wear pink shirts because a boy went to school in a pink shirt and he got bullied. One of the students wore pink shirts to school to support him." Jumana "We got pink paper and we had to draw leave and put a nice message in them. Someone made a tree on our door and we put the leaves on the tree." Sam Celebration of Learning "We went home and we did the Celebration of Learning. We had to do math problems to show our parents how we are solving problems. We had a Locked Room they had to solve and we each made our own little part of the Locked Room. And we also showed the websites that we had created. We each got a new topic or a new city and we had to listen to news articles and then write about them."  Sound Kreations "There was an instructor names Mr. Moises and he taught us some dance moves. Today we did all of them in the song" Sam "We had a dance instructor and he taught some dance moves." Quinn Fractions "We did a word problem how we can split 1-10 fractions into 1/2. All the ones in the middle were the answer." Charlie "We got into groups and we had to figure out some fractions that were equivalent." Dorela  Cuisinaire Rods "We each got a group and we had these Cuisinaire rods which are like ten rods but they are 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. We had to make a picture with them then we had to count up what the value was all together. Then after that we had to draw our character or whatever we made we had to draw" Makena "We used addition and multiplication to see how much our picture was worth."
