 Carnaval Updates and Reminders

  • Monday we are welcoming a virtual guest to speak to us about the Francophone community in Alberta
  • Remember to bring your frozen ice blocks Tuesday for our design challenge
  • Remember you can wear plaid and toques all week
  • Last day of Carnaval is Wednesday the 10th (also the last day of school before Teacher's Convention)

Snowshoeing

"We had different sizes of snowshoes. The orange snowshoes were the biggest and the red ones were the smallest, and the green ones were in the middle. We had to walk across the field." Evelyn

Snowflake Art

"We used papers that were different colours to make these odd shapes that were then connected to make snowflakes. The papers were square or rectangles and we had to cut them to make a square." Liam

"We had to cut a specific way or else it wouldn't turn out. We had to use glue to stick it all together and we had to stick it to the sides of each other and then we had to stick the bottoms together." Makena

Folklofolie

"They taught us Scottish dance and they showed us a couple of traditions they did and some of their instruments." Owen

"They were basically teaching us traditions that they do on the Carnaval. They got to teach us different dancing and how to sing some of their songs." Mila

Multiplication

"We are starting to learn multiplication and we are starting off to learn some patterns. We are getting into groups and doing a bunch of problems that include multiplication." Charlie

"One of our multiplication questions was there are a bunch of different sessions - 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. We had to write and tricks or patterns that we notice in those sections." Makena

Ecosystem Presentations and Locked Room Design

"For the locked room we would get a locked room puzzle and have to make it about our animal and take all these things to put into it. When we put it all together Mrs. Glowacki and Mrs. Gainor would help us and tell us how to do it, with our partners." Isla

"There was a couple of puzzles, there was true or false and there was a matching picture one" Jumana

"We presented our animal that we were assigned. Two groups did videos and the rest of us did books." Dorela

Our Own Fresh Start Routines

"For our Fresh Start we would pick our partners, at least four. We would do little workouts like squats or push-ups." Evelyn

"In our groups we had to have one boy, girl, grade 3, grade 4.We also had to do ten exercises and ten of each" Ege
